While still in beta, Rooms will only support Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, and only up to 10 people will be able to join a Room. As development progresses, we plan to add support for other browsers, as well as the ability to join recordings from a mobile device.

Get started by creating a Room

Creating a Room for your recordings in Descript is quick and easy. Follow one of the options below to get started:

Instantly access a Room from the drive view

This will allow you to get right to it. Once you finish recording, all your files will be added to a new project for you to edit.

  1. Open Descript and select New Project from the main dashboard.

  2. Choose a Record with others. A new window will appear, offering various setup options for your recording session.

Accessing a Room from within a project

Accessing a Room from within a project allows you to save your recording sessions directly to a specific project, keeping everything organized in one place.

  1. On the right-hand side, open the Record Menu to access recording options.

  2. Select Record with others in Rooms. A new window will appear, offering various setup options for your recording session.
