Importing a video does not grant the right to use it in your project. Always make sure you have permission before using imported media.
How to set up Zoom for importing
Configure Zoom to record to the cloud so you can import a recording into Descript:
- Select Record to the Cloud when you start recording in Zoom. If you select Record on this Computer, you must import the file manually. Learn how to import files from your computer.
- In the recording’s share settings, set Who can view to Everyone with the recording link and disable passcode protection. Learn more about Zoom sharing settings.
Breakout rooms
Zoom does not support recording breakout rooms to the cloud. You cannot import breakout room recordings into Descript with a URL. To use this content, record locally and import the file from your computer.
How to import a Zoom recording link
- Copy the Zoom recording link:
- Open your Zoom recordings page .
- Click Share next to your recording, then click Copy.
- Open or create a Descript project.
- Open the Project panel and go to the Files section.
- Click the link icon in the top-right corner.
- Paste your Zoom link and click Add file. After importing, the file appears in your Project panel.
