To use a DSLR or mirrorless camera with SquadCast, you’ll need a capture device and cable to connect it to your computer, like an Elgato Cam Link 4K.
  1. Power your camera on. We highly recommend wired and not battery power for long recording sessions.
  2. Plug the Mini-HDMI connector into your camera’s Mini-HDMI port.
  3. Plug the HDMI connector into the Elgato Cam Link’s HMDI port.
  4. Plug the Elgato Cam Link’s USB connector into your computer’s USB port.
  5. Start a recording session on SquadCast, or join an existing session as the Host or as a Guest.
  6. Select the Elgato Cam Link 4k as your camera in the Green Room.
Set frame rateMake sure to set your camera and Elgato Cam Link frame rate to 30fps for the best results.
