Before getting started
- Claude Motion is an Anthropic product. We recommend reviewing the official get started guide.
- Connect your Claude and Descript accounts. See Connect Descript to Claudefor those steps.
- Each import uses media minutes.
Send a Claude Motion video to Descript
- In Claude, open your Claude Motion animation.
- Click Share.
- Select the Export tab, then choose Descript from the Send to menu.
- Claude will provide a link once the Motion artifact has been exported to a new Descript project.
Edit your animation in Descript
Your animation arrives as a video clip, so edit it the way you’d edit any video in a composition:- Record a voiceover or a screen recording to play alongside it.
- Add captions.
- Trim it, or place it after your intro.
- Ask Underlord to help with the rest of the edit.
Troubleshooting
- Text and design inside the animation aren’t editable in Descript. The animation arrives as a flat video, so you can’t change its headline, colors, or timing in Descript. Make those changes in Claude, then send it again.
- Re-sends sometimes create a new project. If you deleted the earlier project, moved to a different Drive, or no longer have edit access to it, Descript creates a new project instead. This also happens if your last send was more than about six months ago.
- Failed sends. If a send fails, send it again from Claude. The download link Claude passes to Descript expires after a few minutes. If you’re out of media minutes, Descript asks you to upgrade before importing.
