Use the Center Active Speaker action to automatically reframe your video around whoever’s speaking without manually cropping the frame or adding scenes.
This AI tool is ideal for wide-angle recordings where multiple people appear on a single video track. Descript detects when a speaker changes and adjusts the framing to keep them centered.
Usage note

How it works
- Find this tool in the Look Good section of the AI Tools panel or under Layer > Visual effects.
- Select a clip with combined video and audio. This feature doesn’t work with multi-track sequences.
- Toggle Center active speaker on — Descript will automatically reframe your clip based on the identified speaker.
