We know the data our members share with us ranges from the personal to the proprietary. We take the responsibility to protect your data very seriously. We’re SOC 2 Type II compliant.- Independent auditors verify the integrity of our systems regularly.
- Your Project data — including the audio and video that you upload to Descript, the transcripts of those files, and other associated metadata — are confidential, even from Descript employees.
- If you delete your data from Descript, we permanently delete it from our servers.
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information.

Descript Enterprise supports two methods of centralized access management: Single Sign-On (SSO) and SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management).Single Sign-On (SSO)
SSO lets Enterprise members sign in to Descript using a single set of credentials managed by your organization’s identity provider.- SSO is available only to Descript Enterprise customers.
- We support any IdP that uses SAML 2.0.
System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)
SCIM allows Enterprise customers to automate user provisioning and deprovisioning through their identity provider (IdP). Requirements:- SCIM is available only to Descript Enterprise customers.
- All users must be on a single Descript Drive.

Custom workspaces
Enterprise drive admins can create custom workspaces to organize projects by team, client, or function — with control over who can see and join each workspace.- Open workspaces — visible to all drive members, anyone can join.
- Private workspaces — only visible to members added by an admin.
- Manage workspaces from the drive view sidebar or from Settings > Workspaces.
- Set the default save location for new projects (general or personal workspace).
- Control publish privacy options at the drive level.
Customer success and support
Enterprise plans include access to a dedicated Customer Success Manager (CSM) who supports onboarding, training, and ongoing account needs.- 1:1 onboarding and training sessions tailored to your team’s workflows
- Direct access to your assigned CSM for account and workflow guidance
Seat types and usage
Enterprise plans use seat-based access to manage features and usage across your organization. All usage is pooled across Editor seats for the entire Enterprise Drive. Seat types:- Editor seats: Full access to Descript features, including editing, AI tools, and media generation.
- Viewer seats: Free and unlimited. Viewers can open projects and comment but can’t edit.
