Descript’s Translate feature turns your script into subtitles, transcripts, or a new voiceover in different languages. You’ll find both options in the AI Actions panel under the Repurpose section.

Translate supports two distinct workflows, which you can use together or separately:

• Translate captions – Creates translated captions and transcripts from your original script
• Dub speech – Replaces your spoken audio with a translated AI voice

Choose a translate workflow

Translate your captions into another language → Ideal if you want .srt subtitles, burned-in captions, or translated transcripts.

Use Dub speech for voiceover in another language → Ideal if you want to create a translated audio version of your content using AI Speakers.

Plans and AI usage

• Translate and Dub speech are available on Creator, Business, and Enterprise plans.
• Each feature uses a separate pool of AI generation time, based on your plan. Learn more about AI usage limits.
