Upgrading to a Hobbyist, Creator, or Business plan gives you access to additional transcription hours, a larger stock media library, higher-resolution video exports, and watermark-free publishing. You'll also unlock expanded access to AI features like Green Screen and Studio Sound. See the full list of plan features on our pricing page.
When you upgrade your plan, your new subscription level and features take effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount based on the time remaining in your current billing cycle. For more information, visit How billing works in Descript.
Upgrading increases your available limits for transcription time and AI features like text-to-speech, regenerations, and more. However, any usage you've already accumulated this billing cycle — including transcription hours — will still count toward your new total. Usage does not reset when you upgrade.

How to upgrade your plan
- Sign into your account from the app or the web, then click your profile picture in the top right corner of the Drive View.
- Click the Settings
icon.
- In the left panel, select the Subscription tab. If you have multiple drives, use the dropdown to select the drive you want to upgrade.
- Then, in the right panel, click Change plan next to the name of your current plan.
- A new tab or browser widow will open. Select the plan and billing cycle you want to upgrade to.
- (Optional) Choose any additional paid seats or adjust your monthly transcription limit. You can also update your payment information if needed, then click Save Changes.
