Descript’s Zoom integration lets users quickly browse and download cloud recordings from their Zoom account into Descript. With a few clicks—and no cumbersome file transfers—you can pull Zoom recordings into a Descript project, where we’ll immediately transcribe and set it up for editing.
What exactly is Descript doing?
By granting permission to link Descript and Zoom, you’re enabling Descript to:
- show you the cloud recordings you captured in Zoom
- import Zoom cloud recordings and their related audio and video files into Descript
That’s it. We do not collect any data other than the audio and video files in the selected recordings, and Descript only imports recordings that users explicitly select.
Frequently asked questions
What recordings will individual users on our team drive be allowed to view and import?
Only the recordings made on their own Zoom account—i.e., Zoom calls they scheduled, started, or hosted themselves.
Does Descript automatically download any Zoom recordings?
No. We only import recordings you or your team selects and asks to import.
What metrics or analytics does Descript collect as part of this integration?
