When you open a project for the first time, you will see the option to paste a video link from YouTube or GIPHY. Alternatively, you can click Project, and then in the Files section, click the link icon. Doing this will download the content and add it to your project for use.
YouTube imports are currently restricted to 1080p (when available) and no longer than 2 hours in length.

Before importing a Zoom recording with a link
There are a couple of things you need to set up in Zoom:
- Make sure you select Record to the Cloud when you start recording in Zoom. If you select Record on this Computer, you'll have to import the file from the storage location on your computer. Click here to learn how to import files into Descript from your computer.
- In the recording's share settings, make sure to set the "Who can view" parameter to Everyone with the recording link and that you have passcode disabled. Click here to learn more about Zoom settings for sharing cloud recordings.
