Descript makes it easy to sample colors from any visual source and use them in your video content. You can apply these colors to text, shapes, your scene's background, or even use the eyedropper to select a color for the Chroma Key effect.

Use the eyedropper to select colors

The eyedropper tool can be accessed from either the hover menu or the Properties panel.

From the hover menu

1. Select the layer you want to modify in the scene editor.
2. Click the swatch in the hover menu to open the color picker.
3. Select the eyedropper tool
4. Hover over the color you want to sample, then click to apply it.

From the Properties panel

1. Select the layer you want to modify in the scene editor.
2. In the Size and position section of the Properties panel, click the Fill, Border, or Background swatch to open the color selector.
3. In the color selector, click the eyedropper tool
4. Hover over the color you want to sample, then click to apply it.
