Descript offers refunds for plan and editor seat purchases. Eligibility depends on the type of purchase and when you request it.
- Plan refunds: Available within 48 hours of the invoice date
- Editor seat refunds: Available within 7 days of the invoice date
- Top-up purchases (additional Media Minutes or AI Credits): Non-refundable

Request a refund
- Submit a request to our Support team from the email associated with your Descript account.
- If you've already submitted a request, you may need to reply to the thread confirming you'd like a refund.
When changing your plan
If you cancel or downgrade your plan partway through your monthly or annual billing term, your plan stays active until the end of that term. Descript doesn't offer prorated refunds for unused time on your billing cycle.
- If upgrading your plan or switching from monthly to annual billing, changes apply immediately. Descript prorates the remaining time on your previous plan and credits it toward your new plan.
- If canceling your plan, downgrading to a lower tier, or switching from annual to monthly billing, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Seat refunds
Drive owners can request a refund for an Editor seat within 7 days of the invoice date for the additional seat. Admins on Enterprise plans can restrict Editor invitations. For more info, see Restrict Editor invites.
