A stable internet connection is essential for a successful SquadCast session. If you're experiencing issues like dropped connections, audio drift, or trouble uploading recordings, try the steps below to improve your network performance.
Common causes of network issues
- Unstable Wi-Fi or limited upload/download speeds
- SquadCast running in a background browser tab (browsers throttle these)
- Browser extensions interfering with recording or uploads
- VPNs or managed networks blocking required ports and services
Quick fixes to improve connectivity
- Keep SquadCast in your active browser tab while recording
- Disable your camera to reduce bandwidth if needed
- Use an Incognito/Private tab to bypass extensions
- Restart your computer and router to refresh your connection
- Use a wired ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi, if available
- Ask others on your network to disconnect during your session
- Run a speed test to check your network health
Recommended internet speed
We require a minimum of 5 Mbps upload and download speed. For the best experience, we recommend at least 10 Mbps in both directions.
VPNs and managed networks
We don’t recommend using SquadCast on networks or devices managed by organizations such as:
- VPNs
- Enterprise or corporate systems
- Government or military systems
- Schools and universities
- Banks or medical institutions
These networks may block the ports and services SquadCast needs to work properly.
