If SquadCast can't process your payment, your account may be frozen or eventually closed. This article explains what each status means, what you can and can't do, and how to fix it.
This article covers:
- If your SquadCast account is frozen
- If your SquadCast account is closed
- Data retention after closure
- How to avoid account issues
If your SquadCast account is frozen
When SquadCast can't process the payment method on file — after multiple failed attempts — it freezes the account. A frozen account keeps all your data (shows, recordings, session history) intact, but restricts what you can do until the payment issue is resolved.
While your account is frozen, you won't be able to:
- Download, transfer, delete, or check recordings
- View, edit, create, or delete previous sessions
Reactivate a frozen account
- Log in to your SquadCast account.
- Go to the Account Page and open the Subscriptions tab.
- Open Payment Info and verify that the card on file is valid and can be charged.
- Update your payment method if needed.
Once SquadCast successfully processes a payment, your account will be reactivated and full access will be restored.
If your SquadCast account is closed
If a frozen account isn't resolved within the grace period, SquadCast may close it.
Once an account is closed:
- Access to the recording studio is restricted — no new recordings can be made.
- The dashboard and search still work, so you can access previously recorded files.
SquadCast will notify the account owner by email about payment issues and provide a grace period to resolve them before closing the account.
Data retention after closure
SquadCast retains saved recordings for 60 days from the date the account is closed. After that 60-day window, all recordings are permanently deleted and can't be recovered.
Important
Download and back up your recordings before the 60-day period ends. Store copies on an external hard drive or cloud storage service to make sure you don't lose access.
How to avoid account issues
- Keep a valid payment method on file and make sure your subscription fees are paid on time.
- If your card is about to expire or you've received a new one, update your payment info in the Subscriptions tab before your next billing cycle.
- To intentionally cancel your SquadCast subscription, see Cancel or delete a SquadCast subscription or account.
