Script tools

Script

The script tools change how you interact with the Script Editor. There are three script tools that are accessible from the top left of your editor.

Correct tool

The Correct tool lets you quickly click on words in your script and edit the transcript; it will correct the word but will not affect your script's underlying video and audio. Once you click on a word and make your correction, you will return to the standard editing mode. Learn more about correcting your transcript.

Overdub tool

The Overdub tool allows you to replace script audio with an AI voice quickly. Press D before or after highlighting a word or phrase to use Overdub, type in what you want the AI voice to say, and press Overdub. Learn more about editing with Overdub.

Write tool

This tool lets you write your script from scratch using Overdub audio. The write tool will generate placeholder text if you still need to assign an Overdub voice to your speaker label. Learn more about adding Overdub to a composition.

Script tools affect your keyboard shortcuts

When the correction or writing tool is enabled:

  • You can start and stop playback by pressing Command + S (Mac) or Control + S (Windows).
  • Single letter keyboard shortcuts will not be available
