Move projects in your Drive

Move projects between workspaces to stay organized, adjust access, or keep personal work separate from team projects.

Who can move projects

  • Drive owners and Editors can move projects within and between workspaces on a Drive.
  • Basic members can only move projects within their own Private workspace. They can’t move projects into or out of the Drive workspace.
  • Folders cannot be moved between workspaces or across Drives.

Moving a project to your Private workspace removes access for other team members. Learn more about roles and permissions.

  • Use the Drive workspace for shared work with team members.
  • Move older or inactive projects into an ā€œArchiveā€ folder to reduce clutter.
