# Viewing Duration and Word Count

> See the duration and word count of a selection or your full script.

Highlight any part of your script and Descript shows its duration and word count at the top of the Script editor. Select nothing, and you get the totals for the whole script.

## View entire composition's duration and word count

1. Click anywhere in the Script editor.
2. Select your entire script; there are a couple of different ways you can do this:
   * Press `Command + A` (macOS) or `Control + A` (Windows).
   * Click the menu in the top left corner, then click**Edit > Select all**.
