# Recording Countdown in SquadCast

> Give participants a visible countdown before recording starts in Squadcast.

You can enable a recording countdown in the [Advanced Show Settings](/squadcast/shows), displaying a sizable visual countdown for all participants before your recording sessions start. The length of this countdown can be set up to 10 seconds.

## How to enable a recording countdown for a Show

1. Select the Show on the left side of the Dashboard.
2. In the top right corner, select the **Show Settings** button.
3. Under the Advanced Show Settings section, adjust the **Recording Start Countdown**slider to the desired duration.
4. Select the **Save Changes**button in the top right corner.
