# Can You Blur or Add a Virtual Background While Recording in SquadCast?

> SquadCast has no virtual backgrounds, but Descript can add them after import.

Unfortunately, SquadCast doesn't currently support virtual backgrounds, green screens, or blurred backgrounds, but we plan to add this feature in a future update.

That said, it is possible to use virtual backgrounds when you transfer your recording to Descript. Here is how to do so:

1. Once you are done recording, move your files to Descript using [Importing files using Edit in Descript (beta)](/add-and-manage-media/editInDescript)
2. Apply a [Green Screen](/effects-animations-transitions/green-screen), [Blur speaker background (beta)](/effects-animations-transitions/blur-speaker-background) or [Chroma key](https://help.descript.com/hc/en-us/articles/10327650435085) effect to your video.
3. And that's it!

It is also possible to create a background blur with using Mac OS and this should be picked up when recording in SquadCast. Here is how: [Use video conferencing features on Mac.](https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/use-video-conferencing-features-on-your-mac-mchlff01c919/mac#:~:text=Use%20video%20effects\&text=Click%20the%20Video%20icon%20in,or%20later%20as%20a%20camera.))
