# Get Started with Descript Rooms
> Descript Rooms is a browser-based conferencing platform for recording with others.
Descript Rooms combines video conferencing and multi-participant recording in one browser-based space, with built-in roles, recording tools, and a direct connection to the Descript editor.
Descript Rooms supports up to **10 participants** per session. Rooms recordings draw down your media minutes, but only for the total length of the session — not per participant. For example, a 1-hour session with 5 participants will use **60 media minutes**, not 300. **Rooms is not supported on mobile**
Rooms isn't supported on mobile devices. If you bypass the mobile block, recordings may fail and we won't be able to troubleshoot or recover lost sessions. Use a desktop or laptop for any Rooms session that matters.
