The new timeline in Labs is designed to make video editing simpler and more intuitive. This new layout helps you see your video more clearly and makes it quicker to trim, split, and add scenes right from the timeline.

What’s new in the timeline

• Scene rail removed: Scenes now live inside the timeline.
• No more slashes in the script: Scenes are now represented in the script with a thumbnail image.
• Simplified timeline indicators: Easily see comments, audio, and other elements with icons placed directly in the timeline where they occur.
• New split button: Add scenes and split clips or layers with one click. See The Split button: how to split scenes and layers directly in the timeline for more info.
• Timeline tools: Now found in the toolbar. Learn more about using the Timeline tools.
• Storyboard view: Get a visual overview of every scene in your composition and quickly jump between them.
