Overdub Pricing and Limitations

Does Overdub require a Descript Pro subscription?

No, you can create a custom Overdub voice or use the Overdub Stock Voices with any Descript subscription level - Free, Creator, or Pro!

Is there a difference between Overdub generated with the Pro subscription vs. a Creator or Free subscription?

Yes. While you can create a custom Overdub voice and generate Overdub with any subscription, the Free and Creator plans are limited to a list of the 1,000 most common vocabulary words. Any words that are not on that list will be replaced with "jibber" or "jabber" - to avoid this gibberish and gain access to the full vocabulary list, you can upgrade to the Pro subscription.

Can I have more than one Overdub Voice?

Yes, you can create as many custom Overdub voices as you'd like to! Just follow the steps in our Setting up my Overdub Voice article to get started.

How much audio can I create with my Overdub Voice?

You can generate up to 1,000 Overdubs per month, which is more than enough for most use cases. If you think your use case will require a higher limit, please reach out to us at overdub@descript.com to discuss options.
