Some Windows laptops may disable the trackpad while typing. This can prevent the toggle capitalization or punctuation keyboard shortcuts, significantly speeding up correcting your transcript. To resolve this issue, we have found two solutions or workarounds.
Use an external mouse
The easiest way to fix this problem is by using a mouse. When you use a mouse, you won't accidentally touch the trackpad. This means you can use the special keyboard shortcuts for capital letters and punctuation in Descript without trouble.
Adjust the trackpad settings
Adjusting your trackpad settings is another solution. For some laptops, you may have a setting that stops the trackpad from turning off when you type. Turning this setting off may allow you to use the keyboard shortcuts in Descript without the trackpad getting in the way.
