Importing GIFs or Zoom files with a link

You can import GIFs and Zoom recordings directly into Descript using a web link. It's much faster and easier than downloading the file and then importing it into the app.

Adding a Zoom recording

Before importing a Zoom recording with a link

There are a couple things you need to set up in Zoom:

  1. Make sure you select Record to the Cloud when you start recording in Zoom. If you select Record on this Computer, you'll have to import the file from the storage location on your computer.

  2. In the recording's share settings, make sure to set the "Who can view" parameter to Everyone with the recording link and that you have passcode disabled.  Click here to learn more about Zoom settings for sharing cloud recordings.

      3. Select Add files in the top right of the panel and choose file from link from the dropdown menu.
      4. Paste the link in the text box and press add file at the bottom of the panel. You should now see the GIF in your media library.

Can I import links from YouTube or other third-party websites?

Not yet, though we do hope to support other sites in the future. Let us know what you would like to see added!
