On team drives, members can invite other users to join the drive. As the drive owner or admin (available only for Enterprise plans), it's important to keep track of and manage your team members and invitations. Here are a few things you should know:
- Drive owners and admins can invite both basic and editor members to join the drive.
- Basic and Viewer members can only invite other Basic or Viewer members.
- The drive owner receives an email notification when another team member invites a new editor.
- Drive owners and admins can change the membership level of existing team members.
Viewing your team members
You can view and manage your current team members by visiting this link or in the app by going to the Members tab in your Settings.
Manually approving editor invitations
By default, editor invitations sent by other drive editors are automatically accepted. However, the drive owner or admin can review and manually approve or decline these invitations. Turn on the approval setting from this link or from the Members tab in Settings.
Once active, anytime an editor invites another editor, the drive owner will get an email notification to approve the invitation. Alternatively, drive owners and admins can always approve the invitation from in the app by going to the Members tab in Settings.
If an editor drive members invites a new team member as an editor and manual approval is active, the invitee will be invited as a free member until the drive owner or admin approves the editor's invitation.
