Create your Descript Account

You can set up your Descript account in a couple of different ways: sign up with an email and password or sign up using Google.

Descript landing page with sign-in and sign-up options

Sign up with your Google account

  1. Navigate to web.descript.com.
  2. Click the Continue with Google button.
    • Select a Google account to connect to Descript. If you aren't signed in, enter the email and password for the Google account you want to use.

Moving forward, you can sign in to Descript by clicking Continue with Google.

Sign up with your email address

  1. Navigate to web.descript.com.
  2. Enter your email address, then select Continue with email.
  3. Descript will send you a one-time passcode (OTP). Open a new browser tab to retrieve your passcode—closing the tab where you were signing in will invalidate the OTP.
  4. If you sign out later, you’ll repeat this process to sign back in.

Prefer to use a password?

Click Use a password instead, then select Sign up or reset password. After you verify your email with the one-time passcode, you’ll be able to set a password.

Your password must be at least 9 characters long and strong enough to pass the security check.

You don’t need special characters or uppercase letters, but the password can’t be too common (for example, “password123”). Descript uses a strength checker to help you choose something secure.

Download the Descript desktop app

After creating your account, you can continue working in your browser at web.descript.com or download the desktop application.
