Descript's automatic transcription is up to 95% accurate. The accuracy depends on the quality and audio of your file. To maximize accuracy:

• Stand close to the microphone (typically within 6-10 inches).
• Speak clearly, with a minimal accent.
• Minimize background noise.

The more these three things are true, the better your transcription will be.

Transcription does not support song lyrics and music

• Only speech audio will be returned with a transcription when you submit media files for automatic transcription.
• Any music contained in the file will not be transcribed as musical notation or sheet music.
