You can apply auto-leveling to individual clips from the Timeline; this feature automatically adjusts the clip’s gain helping make sure audio levels are consistent across your composition.

1. Right click on a clip containing audio.
2. Select Auto-level clip.
   

You can also apply auto-leveling to a clip within a sequence.

1. Open your clip in the Sequence editor.
2. Right-click on the clip you want to auto-level.
3. Select Auto-level clip.
