Live transcribing and editing recordings

With Descript, you can transcribe recordings, organize takes, and make edits in real time. When you walk out of the recording session, you have a finished product that is publish-ready. When a speaker gets tongue-tied, or if the speaker mispronounces a word, you can delete it from the transcript as you are recording; no need to hit pause or stop the recording! All edits are non-destructive, so if you prefer a take you removed, you can recover it quickly. Alternatively, you can use Descript's Ignore feature to remove the audio but keep the text visible in the script, in case you want to restore the audio.

If you would like to live edit your recording, make sure to enable transcription before you start recording.

Please note that Descript requires at least 60 minutes of available transcription on the Drive for live transcription to work. If less than 60 minutes are available, Descript will default to the non-live transcription flow.
