Descript makes it easy to replace a project file's transcript from the Project panel. This is great for situations where you started out editing an automatic transcription and now want to add a separate pre-written transcript.

Before using Replace transcript

• When using Replace transcript, make sure that your new transcript is formatted correctly.
• Note that the replace transcript option is only available in English. Make sure to adjust your default transcription language in your App settings before attempting to replace a transcript. 

How to use Replace transcript

1. Open the Project panel.
2. Click the ellipsis button next to your file.
3. Select Replace.
4. Select Replace transcript...
   
   

When selecting Replace transcript for a project file, you will be prompted with a new text box window where you can paste the contents of your new transcript. Click Sync to complete the process.
