# Sign in to Descript

> Sign in to Descript with Google, a one-time passcode, or a password, and recover access if you forget your password or lose your account email.

## Log in to your account

Choose your sign-in method:

> Use this method if you already use Google and want to sign in with a single click.
>
> 1. Navigate to [web.descript.com](https://web.descript.com/authenticate).
> 2. Click the **Continue with Google** button.
>    * Select a Google account to connect to Descript. If you aren't signed in, enter the email and password for the Google account you want to use.
>
> Moving forward, you'll sign in to Descript by clicking **Continue with Google**.

> [tab] Email address + passcode
>
> Use this method if you don't want to use Google or manage a password. Descript emails you a one-time passcode each time you sign in.
>
> 1. Navigate to [web.descript.com](https://web.descript.com/authenticate).
> 2. Enter your email address, then select **Continue with email**.
> 3. Descript will send you a one-time passcode (OTP). **Open a new browser tab to retrieve your passcode**—closing the tab where you were signing in will invalidate the OTP.

> Moving forward, you’ll sign into Descript by typing in your email address, and entering a one-time passcode sent by email.

> Use this method to sign into Descript if you'd rather sign in with your email and a password you set.
>
> 1. Navigate to [web.descript.com](https://web.descript.com/authenticate).
> 2. Click **Use a password instead**, then select **Sign up or reset password**.
> 3. Verify your email with the one-time passcode Descript sends you.
> 4. Set your password. It must be at least 9 characters long and strong enough to pass the security check.

> Moving forward, you'll sign into Descript by clicking **Use a password instead**, and then typing in your email address and password.

> > **Forgot your password? Reset it!**

> > Go to [web.descript.com](https://web.descript.com/authenticate), then click **Sign up or reset password**. Descript will email you a password reset link.

## Download the Descript desktop app

After creating your account, continue working in your browser at [web.descript.com](https://web.descript.com) or [download the desktop application](https://help.descript.com/getting-started/install.md).

## Marketing emails

When you create an account, you agree to Descript’s [Terms of Service](https://www.descript.com/terms) and [Privacy Policy](https://www.descript.com/privacy). You’ll occasionally get emails about product updates or helpful tips.

Unsubscribe from these messages anytime by clicking the **Unsubscribe** link at the bottom of our emails. We’ll still send essential account or billing notifications, which can’t be turned off.
