# Export Subtitles

> Export your subtitles from Descript as an SRT or VTT file.

Subtitles export as a separate file you upload alongside your video.

## Export settings

| Setting                     | Description                                                                      |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Format**                  | Set the file format to `.srt` or `.vtt`.                                         |
| **Show speakers**           | Include speaker labels in your subtitles file.                                   |
| **Max characters per line** | Set the maximum number of text characters per line in the `.srt` or `.vtt` file. |
| **Max lines per card**      | Set the number of text lines displayed at one time in the `.srt` or `.vtt` file. |
