What is Overdub?
Overdub is a new feature from Descript that allows you to make corrections to your voice audio recordings by typing. Type in your new words, and Descript uses text to speech to generate your voice, blending it seamlessly into the audio on either side.
Can I try Overdub?
Overdub is currently in a closed beta. We're looking for participants with interesting use cases — if that describes you, please fill out this form.
In the meantime, you can try an interactive demo at https://www.descript.com/overdub
When is Overdub coming out of beta?
We have nothing to announce yet, but if you create a Descript account we'll be sure to let you know when it's ready!
Can I create a Voice Double for someone other than myself?
We require voice authentication before creating a Voice Double of anyone.
Does Overdub work with longer passages of voice audio? Like if I want to narrate a video or something?
Yes. The Overdub feature is focused on mid-sentence corrections that are tonally blended into the surrounding audio, but you can also use your Voice Double for long-form narration.
What languages do you support?
We currently support English (including with accents) and will support more languages in the future.
Do you have an API?
We are open to discussing applications that require API access as part of the Overdub closed beta program.
How much will Overdub cost?
We have nothing to announce yet on pricing.
