# Import Media Library Files to Your Project

> Add media files to your project from your drive's Media Library without re-uploading or consuming additional media minutes.

Reuse a file across projects by importing it from your drive's [Media Library](/add-and-manage-media/overview) instead of uploading it again.

When you use this import flow to bring in a file that's already had an effect applied (like [Studio Sound](/effects-animations-transitions/studio-sound), [Eye Contact](/effects-animations-transitions/eye-contact), or [Green Screen](/effects-animations-transitions/green-screen)), you won't be charged again—media minutes and AI credits are only deducted when the file is first uploaded or the effect first applied. ## How to add Media Library files to your project

### From a project

1. Open the **Project** panel from the right-hand sidebar in your composition.
2. In the **Files** section, click the **+** button.
3. Select **Media Library** from the **Add from** menu.
4. Browse through folders or search by file name to find your file.
5. Click the file to add it to your project, or multi-select to add multiple files at once.

The file will appear in your project's **Project** tab, and you'll receive a notification at the bottom of your screen when the import completes.

### From the Media Library tab in the Drive view

1. Navigate to the Drive view, then click the **Media Library** tab in the left-hand sidebar.
2. Find the file you want to use.
3. Right-click the file (or multi-select files) and select **Add to project**.
4. Choose an existing project or select **New Project** to create a new one.

The file will be added to that project's **Project** tab.
